In these collages, I explore ideas of accumulation and disorder and how the threat of a total chaos could eventually be contained by words or ideas.
The images are cut outs from magazines and catalogues and the texts come from a variety of sources: quotes from the books I read, things people say, popular wisdom or reminders I give myself in the process of living and working. The text in True Freedom II (a quote by the writer David Foster Wallace) is a meditation on the difficulties of the creative process. They draw influence from the world of advertising and are a part of my exploration in combining text and image, initiated in 2008.
